General Information

P.E

Monday (Outdoor PE); Thursday (Indoor PE).
If your child wears earrings we strongly suggest you remove them at home on our PE days. Please ensure that your children bring in the appropriate PE uniform (labelled) into school

Reading Books

Children who are working beyond phonics will be using Accelerated Reader. Accelerated Reader (AR) is a computer program that helps teachers manage and monitor children’s independent reading practice. Your child picks a book at their the level that they have been assessed to be reading at and reads it at their own pace. When finished, your child takes a short quiz on the computer at school - the quiz results are an indication of your child ‘s understanding of what has been read. AR gives both children and teachers feedback based on the quiz results which the teacher then uses to help set targets and ongoing reading practice. Please ensure that children bring their reading book and reading diary to school every day so that we can regularly change books and hear children read.
