EYFS at Edgebury

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children’s ‘school readiness’ and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life. Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. At Edgebury, we provide a high-quality EYFS education giving children a secure and confident start to their school life. Our EYFS curriculum reflects our school values and aims to challenge children to become inquisitive, resilient, respectful individuals who are confident to express their ideas and ask questions. Children are given the opportunity to explore their interests and the world around them and be creative and imaginative in their play. We are committed to nurturing a lifelong love of learning alongside the aims of the EYFS statutory framework. We aim to provide the essential knowledge that children need to prepare them for their future success and to give children the best possible start to their early education. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right and parental support and high-quality early learning together provide the foundation children need to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow.
