Edgebury Primary School Library

Our library is a beautiful dedicated room with a school garden environment theme, displaying the stunning art work which was created using recycled materials by all classes. All classes in the school have allocated library slots, daily for those changing Accelerated Reader books and all classes have a weekly longer slot to browse and enjoy the stunning library space.

In addition, we have Reading Cloud, this is a library management system. Each child in the school has their own special barcode and they scan this along with their chosen book’s barcode to loan the book. This is repeated when they return it. We are able to  monitor reading habits and choices as well as keep track of books borrowed. At Edgebury we are committed to creating confident, skilled readers and our children are excited and motivated by our wonderful  book stock, quizzes and library.

 We have now expanded the use of the Reading cloud library system for children and parents so you can view our school library catalogue online.  Children can write reviews about books they have read and search for new books and other library resources.

The system includes lots of fantastic features including ‘Who Next’ which recommends new books and authors based on the books that your child has already read.  You are able to use this feature at home to help your child select their next book. There is also the facility to see the most popular books loaned from our library, see new books that have just been added to our school collection also children can write a review of books they have read and much more!
