P.E.

PE is on Tuesday and Wednesday. Please ensure that your child brings in the appropriate PE uniform (labelled) into school and are not wearing earrings. For indoor PE, they must wear plimsolls.

Reading Books

Children who are working beyond phonics will be using Accelerated Reader. Accelerated Reader (AR) is a computer program that helps teachers manage and monitor children’s independent reading practice. Your child picks a book at their the level that they have been assessed to be reading at and reads it at their own pace. When finished, your child takes a short quiz on the computer at school - the quiz results are an indication of your child ‘s understanding of what has been read. AR gives both children and teachers feedback based on the quiz results which the teacher then uses to help set targets and ongoing reading practice. Please ensure that children bring their reading book and reading diary to school every day so that we can regularly change books and hear children read.

Homework

Mathletics tasks are set on a Monday and should be completed by the following Monday. 

Writing tasks are set on a Monday and should be returned by the following Monday.

Spellings are set on a Monday and are tested on the following Monday.

All children in Amethyst Class are expected to log on to Times Tables Rock Stars for a least 15-20mins practise a week.
